Perfect Barrel – Napalms, Panaitan Island, Indonesia

Video from Napalms on Panaitan Island, West Java, Indonesia. Napalms is a fast perfect left-handed barrel that reels over shallow reef for 4-6 seconds. No room for turns on the wave, just fast, down the line barrel. I filmed the wave in May of 2005 while on week long boat trip on the Nomad, a surf charter out of Jakarta.

Napalms broke the whole week we were out on Panaitan (famed island of the break One Palm) and broke far more consistently than One Palm. Winds were always favorable for Napalms and it was generally glassy to light off-shore. The wave breaks in very shallow water and a few of us got reef tattoo’s to show from it.
