Althought I haven’t watched this TV yet, I have other Samsungs TV’s and love every one of them and everything about them.

I purchased this TV last week with the intention of using it as my computer monitor and TV in order to save space in my apartment. I was using a tube TV and a 24″ Dell LCD monitor with my computer.
When I received it and hooked it up, I first tested my Xbox 360 with HDMI. The picture quality was great and sound was good considering the small speakers Samsung selected for this unit.
I then tested the Cable via my digital box (w/ component) and the picture and sound were good. As I don’t care about the picture quality very much when watching TV (and only when watching TV) I decided to hook the cable directly to the TV. This resulted in I a grainy picture and the loss of my pretty HD content (which is of course to be expected) but it was as good as any other LCD TV I have used with direct cable connection.
When I hooked up my computer via DVI to HDMI the picture quality was good, but the resolution was much less that what I was used to coming from my 24″ Dell LCD. I can’t fault Samsung for this as there are very few TVs that support resolutions like I am used to, but it just wasn’t something I was used to. I decided to keep the TV and see if I could work with it for a few more days.
This morning I decided I wanted to listen to a record on my Sony record player. I had been attaching this through one of the inputs on my TV and figure I could do the same with the LN26a450. I was wrong. Come to find out you cannot attach an audio source without a matching video source. When I hooked it up it would not even go to the source I had attached it to. Knowing that this was Samsung’s auto source detection working I attached my computer via HDMI2 and hooked the sound into the corresponding ports and the music started playing. I then unplugged the cable from my computer and the sound stops. The video source must be connected as long as you want the audio source. I called Samsung and they stated there is no way to bypass this feature. Support was also VERY rude. Apparently attaching audio without video to a TV is not what the average consumer would do. When I asked him about all of the people that attach iPods to their TVs he just said that there is video with the iPod. I tried to explain that many people either don’t have the video iPods or don’t use the video kit and only use miniplug to RCA adapters. He just repeated that you COULD use the video kit with an iPod. The lack of audio support and the attitude of support is the reason for only 3 stars (instead of 4).
Overall this TV works great for the TV and to attach a game system, but does NOT fit MY needs.

Not a bad product, but the clarity could be better. The picture looks quite grainy when viewing videos from the internet via an S-video cable. Yet to try HDMI. Haven’t tried regular TV cable. Nice finish though. Great delivery by Amazon. Arrived prior to estimated delivery date.

Samsung LN26A450C 26-inch 720p LCD HDTV I purchased this TV to be used in our bedroom and hooked it up directly to cable. The procedure for programing the set was followed for analog and digital cable signals. That is when the problems started! After programing, I discovered that some channels that are available locally were not found. I programed the tuner a second time. The channels found were different from the previous time, so I ran the setup a third time. This time the set locked up and had to be unpluged and restarted. I tried over twelve times before giving it up as a lost cause. After several call to Samsung, it was decided that there was a problem with the tuner. I returned this set and replaced it with a second LN26A450. Unfortunately, the second set exhibited the same problem as the first and the tuner could not be successfully programed. If you intend to connect directly to cable service, do not buy this set! I am returning this one and will replace it with a Sony.
