I thought I had purchased a NEW TV, but after I received it and was mounting it on the wall, I realized that it was a USED TV. It had numerous scratchs on the frame and one of the holes for mounting was stripped. My daughter was happy with the picture, so I decided not to go thru the hassle of re-packing the TV and returning it. However, I will not buy anything else from Amazon.com. When the ad reflects so many NEW and USED tv’s on the item advertised, it should be made perfectly clear which one you are being sent. The ad should reflect how much a NEW one costs and a separate price for how much the USED one costs . I paid the advertised price for what I thought was a NEW tv and received a USED one.

I ordered this product on February 24th, The item says Free Shipping and will not allow you to change the shipping speed // option. For an 800$ TV you would expect amazon to use a decent carrier. My package has sat in Elk Grove Village since the 27th Pilot, the carrier Amazon uses to ship the package has done nothing with it since then. I have called today March 4th ( The day it was suppose to be delivered according to amazon ) They had not even contacted a now 4th party to deliver the package to my home which I can not even set up an appointment with until Tomorrow so Its going to take what 3-4 more days before I receive it? I will never order a item this size from amazon again unless I can change shipping speed.

I purchased this tv about a month ago for my bedroom. I need to get a special cable box for hd from my cable company and don’t have one yet. To me, the color and contrast are fine, but I know with the box it will be much better. I’m not very techy, but the installer told me if I got special (HDMI?) cables, that would help also. I don’t have the full HD setup for the true experience. That said, I find the images, especially peoples’ heads and bodies, squatty. I know that sounds weird, but at first it really annoyed me. I’m getting used to it, but it still bothers me. I guess it’s because of the overall shape of the tv…a longer retangular shape than the older tvs. I pointed it out to the installer, and he said that it wouldn’t improve,that was the picture. Like others have pointed out, the sound is a little tinny and lacks fullness. I may set up some speakers at some point, but it can wait….doesn’t bother me as much as the squatty images. Before I bought it, I did a lot of reading of ratings and opinions, and did a little research. Basically, I’m pretty satisfied. When I get the new cable box hooked up, with maybe those special cables, it should be improved.

Picture quality is good for non-action video and with animation movies in hi def (Cars, etc.). Too much pixelation with sports programming.
